DEEP DIVER CERTIFICATION

Continuing Education - Specialty Training 2012:

Many exciting and fascinating dive sites are found in deeper water! This specialty course covers the knowledge, skills and equipment necessary for deeper diving including:

  • The effects of increasing pressure as depth increases
  • Making an effective deep dive plan
  • Correct surface support
  • Using backup equipment
  • Enhancing your scuba skills for deeper diving
  • Recognising and handling potential hazards such as Nitrogen Narcosis and Decompression Sickness

Obtain valuable information on the selection and use of specialised equipment including:

  • High performance Air Delivery Systems
  • Heavier Lift Buoyancy Compensators
  • Warmer Exposure Suits
  • Dive Computers
  • Primary and Backup Lights
  • Communication Equipment
  • Descent / Ascent Lines
  • Backup Cylinders

PRE-REQUISITES: Open Water Diver Certification

INCLUSIONS: SSI Course Manual & DVD, Theory Sessions, 4 Boat Training Dives, SSI Specialty Diver Cert. Card

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Scuba Equipment (available for hire), Dive Computer (available for hire), Lift Bag/Surface Marker and Reel, Dive Slate, Dive Knife, Safety Whistle
